Product Description

Sensorcon is dedicated to creating durable, high-quality environmental sensor products to meet the most demanding of domestic, professional and industrial needs. We have more than 15 years of experience in sensor integration and design with all products assembled in the USA. The Carbon Monoxide Inspector is a portable gas detector capable of providing real-time Carbon Monoxide readings, in a particular area. The inspector alerts you with audio, visual, and vibrating alarms, when Carbon Monoxide reaches a potentially dangerous level. Sensorcon Inspector Series Proprietary engineering powers the Inspector Series for fast and accurate CO detection. The Carbon Monoxide Inspector is a portable gas detector capable of providing real-time Carbon Monoxide readings, in a particular area. The inspector alerts you with audio, visual, and vibrating alarms, when Carbon Monoxide reaches a potentially dangerous level. HVAC The EPA points out there are many sources of carbon monoxide (CO) that can affect HVAC technicians and other individuals in the home or business. These include: Unvented kerosene and gas space heatersLeaking chimneys and furnacesBack-drafting from gas water heaters, furnaces, wood stoves, and fireplacesGeneratorsIncomplete oxidation during combustion in unvented heatersDamaged, worn, or poorly adjusted or maintained combustion devices Because HVAC technicians are typically called to a home when there is malfunctioning equipment, it is crucial to understand the signs of potential CO leaks that can lead to CO risks in the HVAC industry. Fire & EMS Darker smoke indicates that the combustion present is more incomplete and could signify higher CO levels. Any smoke at the scene, even if the fire is extinguished, denotes a CO hazard. In fact, care should be taken to protect firefighters from CO exposure throughout the overhaul process. The on-duty deaths that occur each year due to CO exposure can be minimized if proper safety measures are taken, such as ensuring all personnel wear a CO monitoring device with their personal protective equipment (PPE) and a self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) when necessary and required for duties. All firefighters should follow firefighting best practices such as wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) and a self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) when necessary and required for duties. In addition, fire and rescue personnel should consider supplementing their equipment with a CO monitoring device for further protection against CO exposure. Automotive, Trucking, RVs Gas-powered automobile engines can produce high concentration of carbon monoxide (CO) quickly, overcoming exposed individuals before they realize they are at risk. To put this in perspective, the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) notes that CO concentrations reach the Immediately Dangerous to Life and Health (IDLH) concentration of 1,200 parts per million (ppm) in only 7 minutes when a small 5 horsepower gasoline engine is run in a 10,000 cubic foot room.

Good unit for the price, it is working perfectly, I test it every other month with bump gas to be sure it stays accurate. Expect Ineed to swap sensor at some point, but lets see how long it keeps up.I did see a comment mentioning a false alarm. Do you homework and be aware there is always cross-sensitivity with other gases like H2 and NOx and some solvents. Even a sharpie can set it off. (Even some HVAC combustion analyzers have this issue) If you want to avoid this you need a unit that will cost a multitude of the price.Beter a false alarm, as no alarm at all ??Stsy safe out there people
