This worked to install the bushings woth ease, especially after freezing them for awhile. However, this tool will not remove the bushings without an additional spacer/cup. The tool worked well for installing but the threaded rod ended up shearing its threads off. I have contacted the company with no response. Seems a bit sketchyThis is exactly what you need to install new rear axle bushings for mk4(1999.5-2005) VW's. It's useless for removing old bushings, but it's not that difficult to do. I was able to wrench in a new set of bushings on my 2000 VW Golf faster than any homemade rig I've used in the past.I used this tool to replace the rear axle bushings on my 2000 Golf and it worked perfectly. Only reason I didn't give 5 stars is the description says "Removal", but on its own, it does nothing of the sort.I was able to use a 2" electrical conduit coupler and the threaded rod from the tool to do the removal, but that's not how it was designed to work.Works more for installing the bushings. Fairly useless to extracting. Bushings are always rust-welded into the sleeves and only a torch and chisel & hammer will remove them. But for pulling in the new bushing straight and even, their perfect!!it wont remove bush i made an adaptor using large 3/4 " drive 50mm socket , and long extension to whack it out, and then put new bushes in deepe freezer for 15 hrs before pressing them in,with this tool, used on my golf 4 michael s africaVery smooth tool. Workes perfectly for my 01' Golf TDI. Go slow and make sure the bushings are going in straight as they're all composite bodied and will crack if forced in crooked. This works for OEM style rubber bushings.I’m a technician in a shop got this in hopes of doing a job over the weekend. Poorly made failed after partial install of second bushing bent threaded rod and deformed it would not purchase again need to warranty or send my money backWorks greatThis tool is a lifesaver. Without it, you’ll be trying different ways to get the bushing in and end up no where. Well worth the money.2000 gulf rear bushing install only have cut out old bushing.I used it for removing / installing axle bushings.it's not bad.did the jobWorked great on 2003 jetta
