The Kapro 905 Digital Condor is an advanced box level tool that features a durable aluminum profile with a finely milled surface and strong magnets. The Kapro 905 Digital features a tilted 45° with a flipping digital readout when the level is inverted for optimal visibility from any angle. This level is precise with 0.05° at 0° and 90° digitally and a 0.0005”/” (0.5 mm/m) vial. The break-resistant Optivision Red vials are up to 8 times more visible than regular vials. Plus, the Plumb Site allows the user to read the vial traditionally from the side, but also at plumb level. This level includes a mode function for selecting degree (0, 1 or 2 decimal), percentage, and pitch mm/m, in/ft. and in/ft in fraction format. The hold button freezes a reading on the display and the False Zero function lets you manually set your base angle for quick and precise slope measurements as needed for ADA 4.8.2 ramp compliance. The Kapro 905 Digital has electronic re-calibration, a visual and audible slope indication and a low-battery indicator signal. You may set the auto shutdown for 15, 30, 60 and 120 min of non-use to conserve battery life. This box level is IP65 water and dust resistant and features shock absorbing end caps and an ergonomic, non-slip handle which provide extra protection. Thought I would give the kapro 905D a go as I had not had a lot of luck with other brands of digital levels and digital angle finders as the electronics always failed even when being looked after. I read that it has a lifetime warranty but in the instruction manual it states 2 years. From what I can gather the lifetime warranty only covers the vials for accuracy. They should make this more clear on their website and retail listings like here on Amazon. I was tempted to return it after reading the manual as that’s a large chunk of change for a digital level with a warranty that short but I decided to give it a go due to it feeling like a quality bit of kit overall. Only used it fir the first time today and it’s functioning great on a stair project. Has a nice large clear display. I like the way the orientation of the display changes depending on what side of a jamb you hold it on. Vials are nice and clear and accurate too. I have not used it for any metal work yet and I’m curious how the magnets will work as they are of an older design compared to my other magnetic levels. It does come with a nice padded bag too.
