I passed on the series when the movies came out, just dismissing it as another YA series not with the time. After speaking to people's opinion that I have weight to I decided to watch the movies, which of course meant I needed to read the books first. I enjoyed the series of books, and the Four stories at the end helped flesh out the series some. If you are considering the series and a random review can lend weight to your decision, then I would encourage it. Roth's series was well written, it had a sensible pace that not pulse pounding kept you moving along, I never felt the series dragged, or preached at the reader while still pointing similarities to reality.
