I saw the main complaint parents had regarding the behavior, grammar and language used in the book.My rebuttal to those complaints is this: as a parent who's reading these books to his kid; the books are a great teaching tool when you engage your child and have a discussion about what you read.The main character is a kid who has a hard time controlling her language and immature nature which is a great way to shine a light and teach my child and discuss why this behavior is wrong while having this literary character as the 'badly behaved kid'. My 5 year old (and yours too) would rather be shown why another kid's behavior is wrong instead of being told that she might have those same misbehaved moments herself. Kids (like adults) don't like to be told that their behavior isn't always good but by letting them pass judgement on someone else (Junie B in this case) it teaches them wrong from right without having to accept that they sometimes do the same. It helps me encourage my kid to avoid such behaviors and tell her she's a much better person than Junie B and has a far better self control. Kids love to be told that they are better than their peers and parents don't want to name a badly behave kid that the child knows so there wouldn't be a slip up so this is PERFECT. It's also very fun and funny for us as parents to read and the engagement with our daughter while reading is also a positive experience.Highly recommend!My grand daughter is read to every night and she was so excited about betting these books. I gave her the first 4 and she wanted more.I read some of them to her and she loved the stories.My husband purchased these so that I could video/read with our granddaughter. She lives out of state from us and Junie B. Jones is her favorite series!My daughter is a HUGE junie B jones fan. We ordered these as a gift for her birthday. The bus box was an added bonus. She literally read the whole collection over Christmas break. Best purchase, hands down for any junie b jones fan. ❤️These make great books for new readers. I tried different books, the Fairy series (which her elder sister loved), magic school bus, the black lagoon, etc. She read one book of Junie B Jones and wanted to read more.Junie B is really hilarious. I like how the author talks through the kindergartener and comments every day life in a child’s eye. The language is very natural and interesting.After reading the first Junie B. Jones book, my seven year old granddaughter and I were hooked. Junie B. has a peculiar viewpoint and strong opinions and is rarely shy about sharing them with her "bestest" friends Lucille and Grace as well as her kindergarten teacher, parents and grandparents. Her plans and schemes often go astray and she learns life's lessons the hard way. My granddaughter loves to practise the expressions and emotions of the characters and especially Junie B. as she reads to me each weekday afternoon as part of her standing homework assignment.Love these books! Kids think they are hilarious. The bad grammar adds to the believability of the character. Unlike some reviews I've read, upset about the grammar - my kids know the difference. Found this item $30 cheaper through Scholastic Canada.Junie B Jones is such a hillarious series. My girls (9 and under) love these stories (and they’re pretty funny for adults too). The language is accessible for early readers too.My daughter enjoys reading these books and laughs out loud. Great collection to pass down.
