The LapCeiver ALT (Audible Lap Timer Compatible) is a device that allows you to get your lap times in the palm of your hand. You can see the laptimes on the large LCD screen and hear it Fits Audibly using a separate earphone (not included in the package). The display shows lap times as you run with much more precision than handheld stopwatches. You see your times on the track and you can try different driving styles or different lines to get the fastest times. Compare your lap times before and after the changes made during practice. Download lap times from LapCeiver to your computer. Times are stored and can be recalled once you are back in the pits. Includes: infrared detector, reverse splitter, case, USB cable. The LapCeiver ALT has 2 modes of operation: Transponder Mode: This mode works with a timing and scoring system and the transponder you have in your car. The transponder sends a signal to the timing and scoring system your track is using and a LapCeiver transmitter connected to that system sends the same signal to the LapCeiver ALT You can enter the serial number of up to 5 transponders into the LapCeiver ALT , one in each of the 5 memory banks. Each memory bank can contain up to 500 laps. Infrared (IR) Mode – This mode works with an IR transmitter that is set up via the track. As the car passes through the beam, the infrared detector, mounted in the car and connected to the LapCeiver ALT, detects the beam. It then sends it to the LapCeiver ALT, activating the time, which appears on the screen. In this mode, one memory bank is used at a time.
