Trainers agree that dry fire practice is the best way to learn to shoot well. It makes the pistol a part of you. However, there is a real problem with dry fire practicing the standard way. When the trigger is activated and the firing pin is released, the shooter’s hand must be used to reset the firing pin by cycling the slide. Only then can the trigger return to its reset position. Can you stay on target while this is happening? Is this the muscle memory that you want to build? Absolutely not! This problem is solved with our DryFireMag. Now, with the DryFireMag, when you activate your trigger, you get the feel and sound of the firing pin release. With both hands still in the firing position and staying on target, you simply let the DryFireMag reset the trigger with a snap, and you are ready for your next “shot”. Now, that’s the kind of action you need to build the correct muscle memory! It has to be second nature when a real-life situation presents itself. INSTALLS IN SECONDS The DryFireMag is a magazine that uses your own gun and installs in seconds. For dry fire training, have the gun set ready to dry fire and simply insert the DryFireMag into the gun like a normal mag. Product came on time and works properlyAllows dry fire practice without having to rack the firearm. I did end up returning it only because the trigger fall was so light as to not register on my MantisX.Worked great for dry fire practice with the Mantis X10, after I adjusted it for my pistol. It is difficult to insert the magazine, so you can't use it for reloading drills. That's OK, it is only intended to practice dry firing. The magazine, when inserted into your handgun, simulates firing. There is a plastic tab on the front of the magazine that lies behind the trigger. Pressing the trigger pushes on this tab, which is in front of a noisemaker that makes a clicking noise when depressed. The amount of force it takes to make the noise is less than the force required to move and release the striker. The result is a feel that is not the same as firing the pistol. Yes, you get the noise, but the tactile feel, the traveling of the trigger, and the reset are all inaccurate. You can tell the difference, because if you keep pressing the trigger to the rear after the DryfireMag clicks, you will feel and hear the striker release. Different feel, different sound. This creates a problem when trying to use this product with devices like MantisX, which 'listens' for the sound of the striker and firing pin. Since the striker and firing pin never move, these devices do not work with the Dryfire mag.Not as useful as it otherwise might be, and coupled with the rather high price tag, I have to give it three stars. This is a very helpful training aid, if you want to use it by itself as a training tool on your trigger pull. But it is an extremely light reset so you don't really get the full effect of resetting your trigger or trigger pull. Also, I liketo use various laser training tools, but this trigger reset is so light it does not set off the laser. So again, it's helpful, but not great, does not work with training lasers, and it's very expensive. I would spend my money on a training laser instead and reset the trigger myself, but that's just my opinion. This is very helpful if you just want to work your trigger finger without the feedback of a training laser.I find my shooting and concentration are improving with these products. So far so good, the reset & pull seems similar to the actual - only comparing to the first pull, when the pin is released and the mag is engaged.Probably will need to check with a meter to see what the pull reads with the mag engaged.I have an Apex DCAEK kit on my M&P and so far no issues. Will update in a month or two from now.I like to dry fire at least 100 shots per day. This magazine is useful for drawing from a holster and firing repeatedly without racking the slide. This magazine allows you to make multiple quick shots. The trigger pull is significantly "softer" than the actual trigger pull. If you rack the slide with this magazine inserted the trigger pull is actually greater than normal. I use this magazine in both my full size frame M&P with Apex trigger and a Compact M&P with the factory trigger. Depending upon what you are attempting to do with this magazine it may or may not meet your needs. Price and trigger pull would get one or two stars. Not at all "realistic" but has some value.
