Planet of the Apes (2001) Original Motion Picture Soundtrack by Danny Elfman - CD & Digital Download - Perfect for Movie Fans & Sci-Fi Collectors

For all of those who like to bash on this soundtrack... I say NAY! It is a very good soundtrack. And here's why. This music is so barbaric, so primeval that it works completely. From the hard brass to that banging percussion! It makes you think that it's some kind of tribal ape music from some lost ape civilization (speaking of the movie of course). This music screams "PLANET OF THE APES"! would have liked Rise and Dawn to have been done in a similar fashion, but hey, they are both still good in their own right. I love the way he pulls off such an apish sound while keeping it as modern as possible. It's not too much and it's not too little (at least for the movie). Elfman always brings his hundreds to the table and goes all in. He is a breed of pure musical influence. He proves this with the Main titles, Main titles deconstruction, and Ape suite #2.
