My wife and I started using this sensor when my son was born. We ended up buying the base because our room was too far for Bluetooth connection only, but the base provided additional features like checking room temperature, moisture and breathing from a distance. In other words, I could monitor everything from work during the times I wanted to check in on his sleep. Additionally, the sensor and base allow multiple phones to connect to it allowing your partner and you to monitor from near and far. Lastly, the battery life is pretty good if you remember to turn off the sensor when you're not using it, it lasted about 5-6 months and it was fairly simple to replace as well. Overall, we have been very satisfied with this purchase.
